MICROLET® Adjustable Lancing Device
| description | how to use | how to buy | warranty registration |

Before you lance your fingertip with the MICROLET® Adjustable Lancing Device, you need to load a short lancet and choose an appropriate lancing depth from the five settings which are available. Then, you are ready to lance. When you're done, you remove the lancet.

MICROLET® Adjustable diagram

Loading an MICROLET® Short Lancet
  1. Remove the lancing device's endcap by gently snapping it from top to bottom.
  2. Take a short lancet and turn (but do not remove) its protective cap a 1/4 turn.
  3. Firmly push the lancet straight into the device's lancet holder.
  4. After you feel or hear a click, continue pushing until the lancet comes to a complete stop.
  5. Remove the lancet's protective cap, saving it for when you remove the lancet later on.
  6. Replace the device's adjustable endcap with the flat surface facing up.
The device is ready to lance.
Choosing one of five lancing depths

Note: Choose a shallow depth for softer-than-average skin, a middle depth for average skin and a deeper depth for harder-than-average or callused skin.

  1. To make a deeper puncture and get a larger drop of blood, turn the device's adjustable dial so that the line matches up with a picture of a large blood drop.
  2. To make a shallower puncture and get a smaller drop of blood, turn the device's adjustable dial so that the line matches up with a picture of a small blood drop.
Lancing
  1. Wash your hands with soap and warm water.
  2. Rinse your hands and completely dry them.
  3. Without touching the area you wish to puncture, massage your finger and hand by stroking down towards the puncture site.
  4. Place the lancing device's adjustable endcap firmly against the puncture site.
  5. Without moving the finger you want to puncture or the lancing device, push the device's blue release button.
The more pressure you apply, the deeper the lance will be.
  6. Wait a few seconds and then stroke down the finger towards the puncture site to form a drop of blood.
Do not squeeze around the puncture site.
  7. Apply the drop of blood to a glucose test strip or test sensor, following the instructions which come with your test strips or test sensors.
  8. Wipe the puncture site with a dry, clean facial tissue.
  9. Put pressure on the puncture site until the bleeding stops.
